PostSubject: Air Icelandic - Joining Application // 24/8/12   Air Icelandic - Joining Application // 24/8/12 EmptyThu Aug 23, 2012 9:30 pm

Hello, I'm Luke. I am a 28 year old Senior First Officer
for Monarch Airlines (UK) I have over 2800 Flying Hours
Airbus A321-232
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

APPLICATION FORM

I would like to join Infinity Alliance for the following reasons

I found Air Icelandic only recently, however I have had four major companies taken over on stock markets.
Our legal country of operations is Iceland. Our main Hub is Reykjavik Keflavik Airport
We operate a fleet of Avro RJ100 and BAe 146-200's. in the near future these shall be changing into Boeing 737-800WL's and Boeing 757-200's
Air Icelandic's Fleet contains 16 aircraft
At present we operate cargo operations as well as passenger.
We are officially the National Flag Carrier,

The aim of Air Icelandic its to carry the Icelandic name with pride and to
fly passengers with passion, safety and comfort. Coordinated flights are the creation of a good global network.
That is a philosophy we vow to keep.

The reasons I think that Infinity would benefit having Air Icelandic in the alliance is because, Due to being to only premium
registered airline based in Iceland we have a very unique operations schedule of which we are able to plan different strategies for different
markets as and when needed. Air Icelandic's operations span's over 3 continents (Africa, America and Europe) and have over 200 daily departures .
We are looking with in the few weeks to open up another 24 new destinations, with 16 new aircraft.

I'm also am a very active player i can be on Airlinesim up to 12 hours a day

We do currently have Interlining Agreements with American International. Any other Interlinings can and will be removed to fit in with Alliance policies

If there are any questions about my application please let me know.

Regards

Air Icelandic

Icelandic Aviation Group.

Hi Luke and thank you for your interest in joining Infinity.

We will discuss your Application as soon as possible.

It would be good if you check this thread every 2-3 days, because our croydon members might have additional questions concerning your airline .

Sincerely

Anna,
Aero Oka

Hello Air Icelandic!

First let me thank you as well for your application. Would you be so kind and aswer the following questions for me?

1) You have a very curious flight schedule. What do you plan to do in the future. Strenghen your flights from Reykjavik or search for more cargo operation possibilities?

2) Your airline is rated BB. Could you either copy some of the information (overall income pax/cargo, overall expenses, profit for the last two weeks) or even better screenshot your income statement for us? This is mainly to see what your company state is currently as the times are really bad.

3) Why did you choose to leave your current Alliance International Flightline? Do they know you are leaving?

Thank you in advance and I hope to see you around! Smile

My aim is to both strengthen Passanger and Cargo operations not just out of Reykjavík-Keflavík Airport, but domestic airports within and around Iceland We are Hoping to have another 40 departures from Reykjavík in the coming weeks. We operate using our Focus cities (Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo and Athens) and hope to expand our markets from there . Over the next month we shall also be expanding on our african and american markets.

A week We gross roughly 315K profit after taxes and expenditures. (maintenance operations fuel and wages)

Finally the reason we left International Flightline was due to the fact we could not benefit from the options we had been given . There wasn't any connections within or around Iceland. so it was decided we would be best to leave. International Flightline were aware of my departure from the alliance with immediate effect.

Ok, to summarise opinion so far (ie, this isn't the final word or anything, just the lay of the land...):

You're aware that as an EU airline you don't have traffic rights outside the EU, right? I mean, you can fly within the EU, or outside the EU from Iceland, but not anywhere else. Which makes your 'african and american markets', uh...non-starters. I mean, they'd basically be non-starters anyway even if you could shift passengers on those routes, but that's a whole other issue.

Basically - you seem to have a fairly limited understanding of what you're doing. Talking about "focus cities" is a pretty dim sort of thing to do with a fleet as small as you have, the aircraft you're using are not suitable for what you ought to be trying to do to make a success out of operating out of Iceland, and frankly on a conceptual level what you ought to be trying to do is - given our major, major transatlantic bases in London, NY, Philly and DC - actively harmful to our existing business.

So - that's that. It's not to say 'go away and don't come back', because heaven knows it's hard enough to find active, communicative etc people on Croydon these days, but you really need to have a think about what you're doing - you're more than welcome to get in touch with me (hi!) either in-game or on the AS forums to talk through what you think you're trying to do vs what you're actually doing, and I'm sure everyone else here would feel similarly, but ultimately the alliance as it stands is really a framework for us to keep abreast of how we're running our airlines and how what we do affects everyone else here - and what you should be doing over the next couple of weeks is probably restarting two or three times until you've gotten into the swing of just how demand, connections etc work. Once you've done that, then we can maybe work on something.

Can you support this with some numbers? How did you calculate it?
